Only the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max might have the brand new Apple A16 Bionic chip. Others, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max (because the mini version seems already forgotten) could arrive on the market with theA15 bionic i.e. the same processor that Apple currently uses on the entire iPhone 13 series. The last minute indiscretion comes from the usual analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that last night launched this prediction after receiving the tip from a source deemed highly reliable.
Will Apple introduce new iPhones with different chips for the first time?
Significant change in strategy for Apple which could therefore, for the first time in its history, present new iPhones with different chipsets. On the one hand, give more power with brand new chip A16 bionic developed in recent months while maintaining high performance with the A15 Bionic by increasing and changing RAM.
Yes, because according to analyst Kuo, Apple would be ready to differentiate the 4 modelsboth Pros and both ‘basic’, as well as with the processor also with the RAM used. In this case, the rumors would speak of 6 GB of RAM for the 4 iPhone models with for the use of LPDDR5 for pro and di models only LPDDR4X for the others. A power differentiation on the RAM which would therefore be added to the various A16 and A15 chips.
Apple has never materially differentiated its iPhones in the last 10 years. The last time was with iPhone 5s and iPhone 5C which saw the use of the A7 and A6 chipsets respectively although in this case the two devices also differed in terms of design and price. Here, the differentiation could come from similar products unless Apple decides to change the cards by offering iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max with Face ID holewe’ve been talking about for the past few months, and iPhone 14 and 14 Max with the usual notch seen to date.

And remember that to date Apple offers 4 different models of iPhone 13. There are iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max which see 6GB of RAM with the same A15 Bionic chip as the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini which are offered with 4GB of RAM instead. An identical differentiation occurred with the iPhone 12 series which, in this case, saw the presence of the A14 Bionic processor.
