Choosing a company to host your website is the most important decision you should make when building a website. So what if the application will work as expected, since you won’t be able to access it because you’ve just exceeded your monthly data transfer limit (!). Half the trouble if it’s because of this, and what if the server doesn’t get caught up in a sudden traffic spike? Financial and image losses will be impossible to recover. Each of these situations causes unnecessary frustration and resentment. Nothing will change what it was, but we can learn lessons for the future. Why not learn from the mistakes of others so as not to make them yourself?
Remember the famous dispute over what came first? Egg or chicken? I honestly admit I’ve heard this question hundreds, if not thousands of times, but I still don’t know. A similar problem also applies to website hosting. What is better? Classic or cloud hosting? Or maybe combine it all into one? For most of you, however, the answer to this question may be of secondary importance. The first thing you will probably notice is the price. It can be a bit naive approach, because as we know, what is cheap does not usually go hand in hand with quality, but it is also a criterion. Right or not? This should be assessed individually. But returning to the question posed above: is it worth choosing a traditional and usually cheaper hosting, or a cloud technology that is a little more expensive, but more reliable? Um, it depends. What if you could combine it all into one?
When purchasing a hosting package, usually much cheaper than the cloud or your own dedicated server, we decide to share the machine’s resources among multiple users. It doesn’t matter if they are websites visited by a limited number of Internet users, but what if they use the hardware resources allocated to the limit? As we all know well, you will feel it too. The solution to this problem could be your own dedicated server, but it is much more expensive than a hosting package and is often not needed. Why why pay for massive computing power that you only use one hour a day? So maybe a cloud? It looks a lot better here, but it’s still more expensive than traditional hosting.
And this is where I wanted to get to the nail of the program, or Cloud Hosting offered by the company nazwa.pl. Before moving on to the exact calculations of how much it costs and if it is profitable, a few words of explanation of what this offer is.
First, as the name suggests, Cloud Hosting is simply cloud hosting. Everything is correct here, the operator on his website claims that resources are dynamically allocated by several hundred geographically scattered servers. In theory, increasing traffic to a particular site should be efficiently managed by automatically adding additional hardware resources. You can see how this works in practice in the graph below …
This solution also guarantees us the constant availability of the website. There is nothing worse than a server failure which completely interrupts communication with the web application. All archived files are also safe. The elements of the nazwa.pl cloud are duplicated, ranging from double power lines, to double power supplies in each device, through a double network, to load balancers that control the operation of the servers. Duplicated RAID arrays, by synchronizing data with each other, provide the ability to quickly recover in the event of large disk failure, and backups in other data centers provide protection in the event of a complete failure of the data media in the primary and backup arrays.
Everything sounds pretty good. It is true that we will not focus on the bank transaction service, but it will be a great offer for most websites or web applications. Are you wondering how much it all costs? Let’s take a look at the tables …
On the main page we find the traditional distinction of multiple packages:
When we take a closer look, we will notice that the individual proposals differ substantially in available disk space and price. It is also worth adding that the rates available in the photos are net amounts in the promotional price for the first year of using the service. The extension will cost 200, 400 and 800 PLN respectively. Comparing these prices with those of the competitors, they are quite decent. The “Basic” package, which costs PLN 200 per year with no reductions, will probably be sufficient for most of them. That’s less than similar traditional hosting offers from other companies. The offer is therefore interesting from an economic point of view.
Traditional hosting offers are slowly being forgotten. Although I personally use such a service, I am slowly considering moving on to something that will allow the blog to work just as quickly no matter how many of you are currently visiting it. We will probably have to do something about it in the near future, because there are more and more readers, which makes me very happy. If you have any questions about the offer presented here or want to clarify something, do not hesitate to leave a comment.
Blog readers can activate Cloud Basic Hosting for a period of six months with 50% off! You will pay only 50 PLN net for the first year. So you can terminate the contract at no cost.
