Popular video game streamer Ben “DrLupo” Lupo will officially leave Twitch to stream exclusively on YouTube Gaming, it was announced today. DrLupo already has a sizable presence on YouTube with 1.74 million subscribers on the platform, but that’s even less than the 4.5 million subscribers it will leave on Twitch. DrLupo’s first exclusive broadcast on YouTube Gaming is scheduled for tomorrow, August 31st.
The exact details of YouTube Gaming’s deal with DrLupo to stream exclusively on the platform were not announced, but DrLupo’s December 2019 deal with Twitch was reportedly worth millions of dollars a year. If this report was correct, it seems like everything YouTube Gaming had to offer would have to be lucrative enough for the streamer to leave Twitch.
I want to warmly welcome @DrLupo, which from today will broadcast exclusively on @YouTubeGaming!
We continue to build something special here, and adding people who do so much for so many in the community gives me great joy.

TO @YouTubeGaming, we continue to uniquely position ourselves in the video industry as a platform that offers creators a robust set of live, VOD and short (short format) tools. There is no better place to be a creator than on the world’s largest gaming platform.

In addition, in an interview with Hollywood journalist While switching from Twitch to YouTube Gaming, DrLupo also indicated that the requirements of his Twitch contract may not be appropriate for his current life, for example as a new parent. “The time it takes to develop a chain so that you are competitive and stay on top of the best can be tough,” DrLupo said. THR. “It’s a long time. At some point you have to weigh what’s important.”
As noted above, DrLupo is expected to start streaming on YouTube Gaming tomorrow, August 31st. You can check out all of our previous coverage of the popular streamer here.
