Free upgrade from Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10
As we know, it is still possible to upgrade to Windows 10 for free, from a regularly licensed Windows 7/8.
It looks like the same procedure will also be possible for upgrading to Windows 11, good news for all owners of laptops or desktops purchased in recent years. For this type of update, it will only be possible to use the media creation tool.
Obviously, the confirmation will only take place on June 24, the official day of the presentation of the new Windows 11. But what will be the installation procedures? Probably the “usual”, let’s see which ones.

Via the update wizard
Update Assistant is a quick and easy way to update your PC. As soon as the tool is available, we will post the direct link.
Once opened, the software will do a little check. Immediately after, the software will ask you to update to the latest version of Windows 10 and then click on Update.
After a compatibility check, if the device is compatible, click Go on. Soon after, it will download the latest version and at the end it will ask you to restart.
On restart, the usual update procedure starts. At the end, if all went well, you will have updated to the latest version.
Via the media creation tool
A tool to update your PC without losing data is via Media creation tool.
So let’s continue Windows 11 download page (not yet online) and click on Download the tool. Double click on the file and in User Control click Yes.
Once launched, the software will continue with the preliminary options. Read it Applicable notices and license conditionsand click on the button I accept. Then the tool will check if the system is ready for installation. On the page that will open, click Update your PC now.
Continue with the wizard and at the end of the installation you will have updated your PC.
