ID.Buzz: Volkswagen’s new electric minibus on video

The official presentation date is approaching ID.Buzz, the new all-electric minibus with which Volkswagen aims to once again offer its iconic solution that has made history for decades in a modern key. We know that the official presentation will take place next March 9: now emerge the first official images of two ID.Buzz coming off the production line, although still with camouflaged bodywork.

The two ID.Buzz presented by Volkswagen come from Hannover plantahead of a press event with journalists due to take place next week in Barcelona.

From the short video made available by Volkswagen we can see how one of the two ID-Buzz has a sliding rear door on both sides, while the other presents it only on the right side. It is therefore possible that the two cars have different internal configurations, in order to be able to show some of the possible configuration options.

The platform used will be that of the MEB, developed by the Volkswagen Group for its fully electric vehicles. It is rumored that for ID.Buzz Volkswagen would have adopted a configuration with large capacity battery, up to 111 kWh of capacity for the batteries, in order to be able to ensure a particularly high operating autonomy. We will certainly know more from March 9, date of the official presentation on the market.

The first information about ID.Buzz, not yet called that at the time, dates back to 2017: at the time, at the Detroit show, Volkswagen showed a very different concept of what will be the final product, already sketching out the strategy that would have seen the debut of a fully electric minibus by 2022.
