The stories of Christian Von Koenigsegg and of Elon Musk they kind of have something in common. At some point, both of them decided to revolutionize the automotive sector, trying to do something that for many seemed impossible, so much so that they were almost considered crazy. Even if starting from practically opposite points of view and objectives, the two will paradoxically end up crossing paths, if only indirectly.
Koenigseggin fact, has just become a “quasi-official” vehicle conversion company You’re herethanks to the close collaboration with Unplugged performance. UP is one of the best-known Tesla tuners, and also the only one to have a close collaboration with the Californian house, so much so that it also receives preview cars to study and design the components well in advance. Now comes this new partnership, which takes the name of UP x KAMwhere KAM means Koenigsegg Advanced Manufacturing.
KAM, whose products will be marked with a special mark, will benefit from the experience gained in the creation of the famous Koenigsegg hypercars, especially with regard to carbon fiber processingas aptly described in the official press release:
“UP x KAM carbon fiber parts are made exclusively from Koenigsegg’s proprietary carbon fiber weave, pre-impregnated with epoxy, precision computer cut to product geometry, hand assembled by artisans at using specialized equipment, pressurized and temperature optimized in an autoclave, extracted, precision finished, sanded, precision glued, finished with a UV clear coat and topped with a special collaboration sticker indicating the manufacturing partnership“.
