The Japanese manufacturer Sigma announced a series of firmware updates for different models of L-mount lenses. With these updates, users will have a better experience when using and shooting with different camera bodies. Firmware can be downloaded from company website and you will need to follow the procedures outlined by the manufacturer.
With the update, the user will be able to select the most suitable mode for the “focus ring check”. Options include elements “linear” or “non-linear” in manual focus for the cameras Of Sigma: fp L (with firmware to be released on January 27), fp (firmware to be released in April). The Panasonic Lumix S1, Lumix S1R, Lumix S1H, Lumix S5 and Lumix BS1H models will also benefit from the update as well as the two Leica Professionals SL2 and SL2-S. The lenses for which new firmware is available are:

- 35mm F2 DG DN Contemporary
- 45mm F2.8 DG DN Contemporary
- 65mm F2 DG DN Contemporary
Same for the model 35mm F2 DG DN Contemporary Of Sigma is available a new firmware which reduces noise when focusing and optimizes the focus bar when using manual focus. The latter is also available for the 28-70mm F2.8 DG DN Contemporary.
Finally, with another firmware update, you may have a reduction in the defect that results in a slight shutter lag if using autofocus on the Leica SL2. The Sigma lenses affected by this firmware update are:
