Among the many announcements, during the Game Awards 2021, the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Trailersequel to the film inspired by the famous video game hedgehog which met with great success with critics and the public at the beginning of last year.
Set after the events of the first film, this sequel sees Sonic face the Dr. Robotnik (memorable interpretation of jim carrey) while searching for a powerful and potentially devastating emerald. Among the novelties is the new accomplice of Robotnik, joinsvoiced in the original version by Idris Elbe.
Luckily, Sonic has allies too, with the trailer seeing the return of James Marsden as Sonic’s troubled friend, the Sheriff Wachowskiand with the introduction of the two-tailed fox Tails (voiced by Colleen O’Shaughnesseywho previously played the character in the Sonic video games).
Like the first chapter, this sequel directed by Jeff Fowlerwith the scenario entrusted to Pat Casey, Josh Miller and John Whittington. It will arrive in US theaters onApril 8, 2022.
